FREE CROCHET PATTERN - A little Pocket Huggle

Posted by R Lismer on

If you follow me on instagram, then you will know after 8 months of home educating, my eldest is heading back into the classroom.

He is excited, but he also has expressed that he is feeling a little nervous. We have assured him that this is totally normal, especially after leaving his last school due to bullying by his peers and gaslighting from the school staff. (yes...at 5/6 years old....don't get me started...the rage still has not subsided.)

Anyway, as a little 'back to school' comforter, as I have told him he can't take his 3ft toy dog, George, I thought I'd make him a little Pocket Huggle.

A Huggle is what our youngest calls a hug. It's a lovely amalgamation of hug and cuddle and we use it at home a lot.... so the idea is that the Pocket Huggle stores up hugs from me, Mr Pigeon and Mini P, so that Little Pigeon can give it a squeeze whenever he needs a little bit of reassurance.

They are a super quick make and just in case your small (or big) humans need a Pocket Huggle, here is the pattern.

I used Yarnsmiths Chunky Yarn in Mustard, a size 3mm hook, a tiny bit of stuffing or fabric scraps and 9mm safety eyes.

I know a 3mm seems small, but I prefer this to ensure my amigurumi is tight. however it is too tight for you, go up to a 4mm)

This is UK crochet terms and hooked in the amigurumi spiral method (as in, no joining the rounds, just keep working round like a spiral).
